2026 Newington Field Hockey Schedule Information

Tryouts for the 2026 season will be held August 24–26, 2026. Additional details regarding times, locations, and expectations will be shared as we get closer to the start of the season.

⚠️ Important: Beginning August 24, all team activities—including tryouts, practices, games, meetings, and team events—are considered mandatory during the regular season unless previously approved by the coaching staff.

The coaching staff is committed to building a program centered on dedication, accountability, and continuous improvement. For the 2026 season, roster decisions will not be based solely on numbers, but rather on identifying student-athletes who demonstrate a strong commitment to the team, maintain a positive attitude, consistently give their best effort, and are willing to invest in their own development and the success of the program.

Athletes are strongly encouraged to use the summer months to prepare physically, sharpen their skills, and demonstrate their commitment to becoming the best teammates and players they can be. Consistent summer preparation is one of the most important factors in being ready for the demands of the high school season.

2026 Practice Schedule

🏑 Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

   
• Practices are held daily unless a game is scheduled.
   
• All practices take place at Clem Turf Field.
   
• Players should arrive prepared with all required equipment, water, and appropriate attire.
 

Transportation

🚌 A shuttle bus is available from Newington High School to Clem Turf Field.

   
• Departs promptly at 2:30 PM.
   
• Available on all school days, including half days.
   
• Players are responsible for arriving at the shuttle location on time.
 

Saturday Practices

🏑 Saturdays | 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM

During the regular season, Saturday practices will be held at Clem Turf Field and will focus on skill development, conditioning, team concepts, and game preparation.
